Training Course for Lay People and Professionals
This is a 24 hour
volunteer training course in Psychological Counseling and Play & Sand Tray
Therapy for personal growth or to become a volunteer. You can become a
member of this all volunteer organization of people who believe that we grow
personally and professionally by helping others. We provide counseling
groups for all ages at no or low cost.
After completing the course,
graduates select the type and location of work they would like to do.
Graduates with masters degrees in psychology, counseling, or social work may
volunteer as counselors.
Others may join our counseling teams as
facilitators or your talents in are welcome.
The
Volunteer Opportunities are Many:
Play and Sandplay therapy for school
children,
Leadership skills and problem solving for teens,
Counseling groups for
adults,
Family therapy,
Grant writing,
Office management,
Public relations,
Fund raising
and other creative activities
Our next TRAINING
COURSE for VOLUNTEERS
The Association for Community Counseling is offering a new training
program specifically for volunteers to learn how to provide counseling groups in
senior residences.
Meetings are on Wednesdays January 20, and 27 and on February 3
and 10, 2010
from 3 to 6:00 p.m.

The Association for Community
Counseling (ACC) is approved by
the Florida Department of Professional Regulation to provide continuing
education to licensed mental health counselors, marriage and family
therapists, and licensed clinical social workers (Provider # BAP 49) and by
the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to
play therapy (Provider # 99-051).
